The history

 

My name is Jude Allen and I have been tutoring students - in classes and as individuals -  from Undergraduate right down to KS1 for over 20 years. I was Head of English at the UK's largest online school, where I worked for almost ten years until I decided to branch out as Oceans of Learning where I could give students the individual support that they need. 

 

I have a thorough grounding in all aspects of both English Language and Literature, and am an expert examiner for GCSE and A level for the major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and Cambridge.

I have given lectures and conducted seminars at universities. I have developed and taught drama groups to primary school pupils, and have developed drama workshops for A Level students. I am interested in connections between the environment and humanities, and have recently set up a project called Soil Voices considering how the stories we tell can foster a more positive connection with the world that we share with all other beings..

 

I hold a PhD in English Literature, an MA (distinction) in the representation of the body in Literature, and I have a BA hons. (first class) in English. I have two teaching qualifications in EFL as well as a PTTLS qualification.  I am just finishing an MSc in Regenerative Food and Farming.

 

The development of efficient online teaching platforms has enabled me to tutor a huge range of students from as far afield as Bahrain, Turkey, Spain, Belgium, France, UAE, USA, Russia and Norway - as well as students in the UK.

 

At the moment, Oceans of Learning offers tuition in all aspects of English, but there are future plans to build on this and recruit specialist tutors in other subject areas.
